This Chewy Garlic Seasoned Potatoes recipe is a popular and trending Chinese dish. It is also called Potato button noodles or potato dumplings.
Equipment
- 1 mixing bowl
- 1 Saucepan
Ingredients
- 2 Medium size potatoes (400-450 grams)
- 200 grams potato starch
- 3 cloves garlic (minced or finely chopped)
- 4 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp chopped green onion
- 3 tsp cooking oil
- Some sesame seeds for garnishing (optional)
Instructions
- First, peel the potatoes and chop into small cubes size.
- Boil or bake the potato chunks for 15-20 minutes or until tender. Make sure they are cooked oil.
- Transfer potatoes into a bowl and mash them finely with a fork.
- Now take a bowl and add potato starch into it. Add mashed potato in it and mix it with potato starch. Add a little water and knee. Make a solid and soft dough.
- Take a little portion of dough(approx. 1 tbsp), squeeze and roll it with your hands, and make a sphere dough ball.
- Insert a glass bottle into the dough ball until it reaches the midpoint of the dough. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the dough is utilized.
- In a bowl heat up water with salt, and transfer the potato balls into the water. Boil it for 5 minutes or until cooked well.
- Transfer the potato balls to cold water then drain.
- Place the potato balls into a bowl.
Make The Seasoning
- Add diced garlic and sliced green onion on top of the potato balls (button noodles)
- Pour soy sauce on it. Sprinkle granulated sugar on it.
- Heat the cooking oil on a high flame and pour the hot oil over the seasoning.
- Mix well with the potatoes. You may garnish it with sesame seeds, and enjoy!
