Top Foods That Will Save You From a Hangover

23rd February 2023

We’ve all experienced that awful feeling in the morning, such as a hangover. Let’s imagine that you woke up after a good night out. What do you feel? A dry mouth? Dizziness? Or maybe you feel so bad that you even feel nauseous?

While no food will cure your hangover, the right food will help eliminate it and try to repair your body to help you rock up faster and get back on your feet.

Foods to avoid hangover

Let’s move on to the foods that will save you from a hangover or at least help you recover as quickly as possible.

Yogurt

Yogurt is best with vanilla or plain. It calms the stomach. If you feel very sick the day after drinking alcohol, yogurt can help ease an upset stomach, regulate blood sugar levels, and reduce bloating. Except, the reviews of yogurt are mixed.

It’s all about how you feel when you wake up and think about putting a white fermented milk product in your mouth. If you can psychologically come to terms with the benefits of eating yogurt for a hangover, it will only benefit you. But if not, it can, alas, end up quite – not good.

Tost with avocado

Why is today’s generation so obsessed with avocado toast? Mostly because of food trends and because the fat from guacamole and the carbs from toast are great during a hangover. Guacamole is a pureed sauce made with avocado, cilantro, tomatoes, lime juice, etc. It’s kind of like brunch, but for a certain good reason. And, unlike a hamburger or cheeseburger, that fat in an avocado is really good for you at a time like this and can help set your upset stomach and your whole body. When you drink, you lose potassium. Potassium, by the way, helps regulate the amount of fluid in the body. When there is not enough potassium in the body, it leads to impressive dizziness, muscle cramps, and general weakness. And avocados have just that very potassium in them. You could say it’s like a “superfood” for a hangover.

By the way, if, along with a hangover, you also have burning deadlines to study at university, you are doubly hard, and avocado toast is only part of the solution. You may need to consider educational help to complete your work while you recover. Many people have asked, “is paperhelp reliable?” Based on the reviews, yes. Just like these hangover food remedies, it can provide a solution to another headache-inducing problem.

Bananas

How could we be without bananas? Everyone loves it. So, we present to you the health benefits of bananas. Often, you don’t want to eat anything when you have a hangover, but you have to. And in this case, it is better to take a banana. Bananas are very rich in potassium (like avocados) and can help restore the water balance in the body. They also contain magnesium, which relaxes blood vessels, thus reducing headaches. Bananas are also a source of vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is also not a cure for a hangover but is great for reducing symptoms.

Many argue that vitamin B basically acts as a hangover cure. Again, there is no hangover cure. BUT! B vitamins are a great energy source for the body, and the liver loves them. Specifically, it will use the energy of B1, B2, B3, and B6 to speed up the body’s detoxification process.

All in all, to sum it up as a bottom line, bananas are healthy and beneficial.

Salmon

Salmon in foil and asparagus in garlic butter sauce is the simplest salmon recipe. It can easily be found on the Internet.

Salmon is rich in essential fatty acids, but it is vitamin B12 that we are considering. A serving of salmon contains about 50 percent of the recommended daily dose of B12. When alcohol levels go up, B12 levels go down because alcohol can interfere with the absorption of this vitamin from food. So pre-gambling with foods that are rich in vitamin B12 and free of inhibitors can help maintain these levels throughout the evening.

Now a word or two about asparagus. Studies show that asparagus helps prevent alcohol-induced liver cell damage. At any rate, it reduces inflammation in those cells.

Lemon Water

Okay, it’s not technically food, but something you should add to your rescue kit. As we already know, our liver plays an essential role in eliminating toxins and is our friend, even more so when processing alcohol. One of the causes of hangovers is also related to dehydration.

Alcohol is a diuretic, causing our kidneys to excrete fluid faster. Both water and lemon, in this case, help the liver process the alcohol and restore the H2O(water) level in the body. The antioxidants in the lemon peel can stimulate enzymes in the liver, and vitamin C is good for the immune system in general. It won’t give you a huge amount of antioxidants, but it will be enough to help. However, simply slicing a lemon and adding it to water will not have the same effect as squeezing fresh lemon juice into water. So give the lemon a good squeeze for maximum effect.

Cheeseburger

Yes, we are coming to the end of this list with the almighty cheeseburger! Between the protein and the fat, the cheeseburger will help absorb some of the alcohol in your stomach, so it can’t attack you as much as it would without it. However, you should eat a hamburger or cheeseburger before you start drinking. If you eat a hamburger after a drink, you can easily get nauseous. And the fat will only irritate your stomach.
