How Long To Bake Chicken

Do you want to make a chicken recipe in oven? But don’t know how long to bake chicken in oven. Here is the complete solution for you. I am explaining the baking time of different parts of the chicken. Different parts of chicken take different baking time. It also depends on the size of the chicken pieces and oven temperature.

How long to bake chicken breast?

The baking time of chicken breast depends on these facts like size of the chicken breast, thickness, temperature of the oven, and the type of dish you want to make.

Whether you set the temperature of the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit then for a medium-size chicken breast, it should be bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

But, “how long to bake chicken breast at 425 degree” Fahrenheit? Chicken breast should be bake 15-20 minutes at 425 degree Fahrenheit. The internal temperature of the chicken should be reached at 165 degree both of these cases.

  • Chicken Breast at 350°F – 35-40 minutes
  • Chicken Breast at 365°F – 32-38 minutes
  • Chicken Breast at 375°F – 25-30 minutes
  • Chicken Breast at 400°F – 22-25 minutes
  • Chicken Breast at 425°F – 15-20 minutes

How long to bake chicken thigh?

Chicken thigh takes little more time than the chicken breast to bake. Boneless chicken thigh take 35-40 minutes to bake at 375°F. Bone-in chicken thigh requires little more time than boneless chicken thigh. Bone-in chicken thigh takes 40-45 minutes for baking. Here are the lists of the temperature and baking time-

  • Chicken Thighs at 350°F – 45-50 minutes
  • Chicken Thighs at 365°F – 42-48 minutes
  • Chicken Thighs at 375°F – 40-45 minutes
  • Chicken Thighs at 400°F – 35-40 minutes
  • Chicken Thighs at 425°F – 30-35 minutes

How long to bake chicken legs?

A chicken leg has two parts – thigh and drumstick. I have already discussed the baking time of chiczxken thigh. Now let see the baking time of a full chicken leg (thigh+drumstick).

  • Chicken Legs at 350°F – 48-52 minutes
  • Chicken Legs at 365°F – 45-50 minutes
  • Chicken Legs at 375°F – 42-45 minutes
  • Chicken Legs at 400°F – 38-42 minutes
  • Chicken Legs at 425°F – 35-48 minutes

How many time take to bake chiken drumstick?

A chicken drumstick takes little less time than thigh to cook. For perfect baking, a chicken drumstick takes 38-45 minutes at 375°F.

  • Chicken drumstickat 350°F – 45-50 minutes
  • Chicken drumstickat 365°F – 45-48 minutes
  • Chicken drumstickat 375°F – 40-45 minutes
  • Chicken drumstickat 400°F – 35-40 minutes
  • Chicken drumstickat 425°F – 32-38minutes

Baking full chicken

Baking of a whole chicken needs more time than a particular part. A whole skinless chicken takes approximately 55-60 minutes for baking at 375°F. It should be flip 2-3 times during roast.

  • Roast Whole Chicken at 350°F – 60-65 minutes
  • Roast Whole Chicken at 365°F – 55-60 minutes
  • Roast Whole Chicken at 375°F – 50-55 minutes
  • Roast Whole Chicken at 400°F – 45-50 minutes
  • Roast Whole Chicken at 425°F – 40-45 minutes

Note: All of the values are approximate and may be differ as per size of the chicken and type of recipe you want to make. Confirm the internal temperature of chicken. It should be reach at 165°F when cooked well.

How to bake chicken in oven

Oven baked chicken can be crispy or soft. To make both types of these recipe first we need fresh chicken. Mix spices with it as per your choice. It should be marinated first if you want to make crispy chicken. Oven-baked tender chicken does not require marination. Let see how to make oven bake chicken.

  • Mix spices like black pepper, garlic powder, cumin powder, etc with chicken.
  • Spray cooking oil on chicken lightly.
  • Spray cooking oil on a tray and line chicken pieces on it.
  • Preheat oven as per requirement.
  • Bake approximately 20 minutes then flip the chicken and Bake another 20 minutes. (follow the above time chart as per size of the chicken and which part of the chicken you are baking.)
  • Broil the chicken for 2 minutes at the last moment to make it crispy.
  • Remember, broil temperature should be more than 425°F.
